Eight inexpensive remedies for colon cleansing

Colon cleansing has so many health benefits that every day without colon cleansing measures is a day wasted. Colon cleansing does not have to be complicated or expensive. We present eight of the best and at the same time cheapest remedies for colon cleansing.

Colon cleansing agent: effective, simple and inexpensive

A healthy intestine is the prerequisite for a strong immune system. A healthy intestine can therefore prevent acute as well as chronic diseases. With today’s diet, stress, lack of time and hectic eating, very few people are fortunate enough to have a healthy intestine.

However, you can get your intestines back into shape with simple and inexpensive remedies. The intestinal mucosa is soothed, intestinal peristalsis is regulated and the intestinal flora is positively influenced.

Below we briefly present eight of the best and cheapest home remedies for colon cleansing.

1. Flaxseed

Flaxseed is a very inexpensive home remedy for colon cleansing. Even with the best organic quality, you won’t spend more than $8 per kilogram (usually significantly less) and you only need a few grams of it per day.

The linseed is taken with plenty of water and then forms a healing mucus in the digestive tract that protects the mucous membranes. At the same time, flaxseed stimulates peristalsis, which leads to regular stool excretion.

2. Psyllium husk powder

The effect of psyllium husk powder is even stronger than that of linseed. It is a high-quality fiber that binds toxins and other harmful substances in the intestines, creates a healthy environment for the beneficial intestinal bacteria, and – similar to linseed – forms a healing mucus.

Psyllium husk powder is very economical. 300g only cost $15 and is sufficient for a treatment of four weeks with a daily use of a maximum of 10 g. Even half the amount is effective. Here, too, it is absolutely important to drink a lot of water when taking the powder – ideally 400 ml per 5 to 10 g. To do this, stir the powder into part of the water (e.g. 100 ml) and drink it quickly. Drink the remaining 300 ml slowly.

In our clinic we always explain how important it is to dose intestinal cleansing preparations – including psyllium husk powder – individually and, always to start with small amounts.

In some places, you read that you can consume a maximum of 40 g or 8 teaspoons of psyllium husk powder per day. This amount is an overdose and – since you can hardly drink the amount of water required – can lead to side effects such as constipation and abdominal cramps.

3. Bentonite and Zeolite

The mineral clays bentonite and zeolite are classified as mineral or healing clays. They absorb toxins in the intestines and leave a pleasant environment for the intestinal flora. The intestinal mucosa can then heal better and inflammation decreases. Both clays regulate intestinal activity in such a way that they can be helpful for both diarrhea and constipation, but also generally belong in every home medicine cabinet, as they are also used internally for headaches, upset stomachs, hangovers and poisoning, and externally for eczema, abscesses and insect bites.

Only use zeolite that is labeled for internal use.

4. Water

Pure water is seriously underestimated. Because it is an excellent and, of course, extremely inexpensive remedy for intestinal cleansing and for generally promoting the body’s own detoxification processes. Drink water regularly. Water keeps your blood flowing, promotes digestion, flushes toxins out of the body, supports kidney function and thus also the elimination of harmful substances in the urine.

5. Colonic enemas

An intestinal enema is very easy to perform and extremely effective. Enemas are also one of the cheapest means of colon cleansing. In addition, intestinal irrigation is an excellent first aid measure for stubborn constipation, but also for headaches and general malaise.

An enema set (irrigator) is available from $50 and lasts a lifetime.

Or if you don’t want to do an enema yourself you can go to a Colonic Clinic to receive either a medicated enema or treat yourself to a Holistic Colon Hydrotherapy session.

6. Abdominal massages

Abdominal massages are probably the cheapest means of colon cleansing ever – a simple self-help measure for which you don’t need a doctor and which anyone can carry out independently, regardless of their health condition. Abdominal massages don’t take more than a little of your time (10 minutes) but are extremely effective.

An abdominal massage relaxes the intestines, promotes blood circulation in the abdomen (and thus the oxygen and nutrient supply to all abdominal organs) and activates the peristalsis of the digestive system. The result is impressive: flatulence goes away more easily, constipation is eliminated, the abdominal organs feel better, even back pain, abdominal problems and hemorrhoids improve, yes, even tensions – including those of an emotional nature – dissolve and the mood improves.

7. Sauerkraut and kimchi

Sauerkraut and kimchi are two probiotic foods, meaning they contain beneficial strains of bacteria that are also native to a healthy gut. At the same time, they contain lactic acid, which ensures an optimal environment in the intestines.

Purchased sauerkraut is often heated and therefore no longer contains live bacteria, which is why it is best to make it yourself. All you need is white cabbage and a little salt, which makes sauerkraut an extremely inexpensive way to cleanse your intestines. Even if you first have to buy a fermentation pot, this is only a one-off expense.

You can find the recipe for sauerkraut and other ferments here.

8. Ginger

Ginger is also one of the inexpensive remedies for intestinal cleansing. You can use the spicy root – whether ground, as fresh root, in drop form or as a capsule – very well for intestinal cleansing. Ginger has a healing effect on the entire digestive system – from the throat, where it eliminates bad breath, to the stomach, where it activates the digestive juices, to the intestines, where it relieves flatulence, cramps and inflammation.

After antibiotics, simple colon cleansing remedies are not enough!

Of course, it is best if you always combine two or more of the inexpensive remedies presented. If you have recently taken antibiotics or are currently taking antibiotics, then the measures mentioned will most likely not be enough. Antibiotics can cause lasting damage to the intestinal flora, so taking a probiotic makes sense in this case.
